Dr. Farah Alammari is an experienced scientist in biotechnology, with a profound commitment to research and philanthropy. Her academic journey includes a PhD from Oxford University and a master’s degree in Genetics from the University of Southern California, underscoring her expertise in the field.

Throughout her career, Dr. Alammari has led various projects resulting in several publications in esteemed peer-reviewed scientific journals. Her dedication to advancing the scientific community extends to her current role as an Advisor to the Governor at the Research, Development, and Innovation Authority in Saudi Arabia.

Driven by a deep-rooted passion for the non-profit sector, Dr. Alammari has channeled her energy towards establishing “Abhath”, aiming to revitalize the culture of donations for research, development, and innovation in the Kingdom.

Dr. Batla Al-Sowayan

Vice Chairwoman of the Board

 Dr. Batla Al-Sowayan is an experienced research scientist in the field of Biotechnology. She holds a PhD from the School of Medicine at the University of Melbourne, and a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences from King Saud University.

Since the beginning of her career, Dr. Al-Sowayan has been passionate about biomedical research and innovation. She has successfully initiated several proposals, and led numerous projects in Regenerative Medicine research. Her work has resulted in the several publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and a patent for an innovative method in tissue regeneration.

Throughout her professional journey, Dr. Al-Sowayan’s passion has evolved to embrace scientific research and innovation as a multi-element system. This includes, alongside innovative scientific ideas, social and humanitarian goals, legal and ethical frameworks, economic feasibility, and ways of sustainability. Now she has made it her mission to support innovations that support our lives.

Dr. Mohammed Alshareef

Board Member

Bringing over 19 years of professional expertise in emerging technologies, research, and innovation, Dr. Mohammed AlShareef specializes in communication engineering, innovation policies, and strategies. Currently ranked as a professor of communication engineering, Dr. AlShareef also serves as the General Manager of the National RDI Observatory at RDIA, leading various initiatives and projects in innovation strategy and technology monitoring and development. He holds a PhD in communication engineering from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from Imperial College London.

With a proven track record in leadership across diverse domains, including project management, research and development (R&D), business analysis, and digitalization, Dr. AlShareef is dedicated to driving organizational success. Recognized for his contributions as an award-winning leader, he is known for his published work and keen interest in technology intelligence and program management.

Dr. Alaa Alshareeda

Dr. Alaa Alshareeda, a research scientist and Associate Director of the Saudi Biobank, focuses on cancer research and tissue engineering to advance medical knowledge. With a robust academic background and experience as an editor for various journals, she oversees strategic operations, ensuring the collection of high-quality biological samples. Dr. Alshareeda collaborates with national and international institutions, driving advancements in medical research.

Beyond her scientific roles, she is the founder and Chairperson of the non-profit organization “Netaj,” dedicated to social empowerment and community upliftment, showcasing her commitment to creating a lasting impact beyond research boundaries.
